The Staff Accountant supports the Fiscal Department by performing essential accounting functions that ensure accurate financial records, regulatory compliance, and timely reporting across Anderson Center for Autism programs. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Finance, this role is responsible for general ledger activity, account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and audit support, while assisting with month‑end close, cost reports, and internal compliance activities.

Pay Range: $27.88 - $30.38 Hourly; Based on experience

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Post general ledger entries and maintain supporting workpapers for balance sheet and expense accounts, including fixed assets, inventory, prepaids, work‑in‑progress, and contracted services
  • Prepare and reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies
  • Reconcile bank statements in accordance with fiscal operating procedures and prepare related journal entries as needed
  • Assist with month‑end close activities, internal financial reporting, cost reports, and year‑end audit preparation
  • Enter manual payments and cash receipts as assigned, supporting proper segregation of duties within the fiscal office
  • Participate in IRA Personal Allowance audits in accordance with OPWDD regulations and assist with documenting and communicating findings
  • Support compliance with fiscal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Assist the Assistant Director of Finance and fiscal leadership with additional accounting and reporting tasks as needed
 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred; Associate’s degree with relevant accounting experience will be considered
  • Experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, or related financial analysis
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a regulated environment
  • Experience in nonprofit, human services, healthcare, or education settings preferred
