Speech & Language Pathologist
The Speech Language Pathologist/ Therapist (SLP or SLT) provides assessment, remediation, consultation, caseload management and staff development for communication disorders through direct and indirect services.

To actively further the agency's mission to optimize quality of life (QofL) for individuals served by monitoring and implementing systems that promote the QofL of the individuals in our care.
Pay Range: $68,061.03 - $72,336.41 Annual Salary; Based on experience and NYS certifications.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The SLP/ SLT provides assessments on students according to their speech and language needs.
- The SLP/ SLT provides individual and group speech and language therapy for communication disorders, including functional communication, augmentative and alternative communication, oral-motor skills, speech and language development.
- The SLP/ SLT provides consultation and collaboration to classroom staff and related disciplines.
- The SLP/ SLT informs and educates the public and supports the profession.
- Provide consultative services to program staff regarding student communication support and intervention planning.
- Observe, train and provide consultation to the educational and residential programs as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Master's degree in Communication Disorders, with New York State Initial/ Provisional Certification, or Professional/Permanent Certification as a Teacher of the Speech and Language Disabilities or Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped.
- Must maintain qualifications in the crisis intervention procedure of the agency.
- Must be capable at all times of initiating or assisting in all components of the crisis intervention of the agency.
- Must be capable at all times of assisting occupants in the orderly evacuation of the facility, by both primary and secondary paths in the event of fire or other emergency.
